Nepal?s King's move- Influenced by Hindi (Indian) Movie Politics
Six month from Feb 01, 2005, would be August 01, 2005, deadline the King set by himself, failed by his own action.
Finger crossed, impatiently awaiting Nepalese people were to witness the change in the society, Nepalese politics, and the way government would function internally and externally to maintain mutual relation with foreign nations.
However, not only the expectation isn't met, it actually affected adversely to worsen the pre-existing situation.
Change is always challenging, and takes time, that is why people including me, supported the King's move, but the strong commitment pledged by the King illusioned innocent Nepalese people to believe his culprit minded strategy that simply proved to be another hoax of the King. Unlike terrorist branded Maoist insurgents captivating few hundreds of students, villagers, or teachers, The King actually trapped and handicapped the whole nation, isolating with the entire world, by disconnecting the telecommunication, transportation, and other such basic needs of 21st century people. People couldn't even call ambulance or police no matter how emergency it would be, press freedom is crushed by shutting people's voice, and pushing the nation back to 500 years.
For many, its a state of confusion- what exactly does King have in his mind?, for others, its nothing but unconstitutional dictatorship, while to me, it just reminds the funny Hindi movies that often portrays dirty politics of real life that is so unacceptable that people have learnt to live watching those movies, assuming that its just a movie. Unfortunately, not for the King of Nepal now. You call it thriller, or psycho-thriller, or even suspense yet to learn, the King's intention will no longer bring a surprise.
Though poor in resources, but blessed with natural heritage and highly intellectual peoples capable of making notable decisions of brilliance, Kings limited vision prompted him to act immorally once again to choose illiterate, rapist, thieve, self-centered, immoral, thug, and most essentially "YES", individuals to his cabinet, or ministry to rule the nation and its citizens. Most of the NGOs, INGOs, and donors today, could make their own decision to exit out of the country, leaving behind those poor Nepalese people left behind with no any other option than to simply be crushed under the King and his few chosen ones' dirty game that they still prefer to defend claiming that their every single move is democratic step forward. How pathetic is the 21st century people, believe it or not happens, only in Nepal.
King's promise to change the situation in the country in six months and shape of the nation in the next three years has no longer been an impressive message to the nations and people around the world. Good or bad, the big neighbor- India already has conveyed strong message to the King, ?What?s happening Your Majesty?". Several nations with good relations to Nepal have now been knocking on the palace's door for results. US Senators and European nations have sent clear message along with the actions like sanctions, restrictions, against Nepal. While, people are getting poorer, the King's business is to foster and grow. On the basis of the main villain figure of the Hindi movie- His own son- Crown prince-, to think his reign shall continue to grow, is not only a legendry foolish story, but also utmost stupidity. How long before the King with the Vishnu figure in Hinduism shall wait to be compared to Kim Jhong Il or the Hussein, it?s a mystery. What is candid truth is that, every second of King's aggressive stand, is weakening the future of people of Nepal, and loosing the hope on democracy.
Almost every single of those Hindi movies whose dirty game has influenced the King, ends by the public win. The fact the King seems to have forgotten. The reason of the failure of each of those movies' politicians is their weakness to abide by the true meaning of Leadership. Leadership means guidance, to lead by an example, relationship with the followers, to learn from the mistakes- so that same is not repeated. Leadership has vision, integrity, honesty, public virtue, passion, determination, commitment, and always ends by Result based talks and walks. The King of Nepal at now has shown to have none of these. It?s never too late to lean, I learnt the fact, I wish, the King of Nepal would too. Rather than being a character, the time for the King is now to be a spectator to understand the present, learn from the past and think about the future.
It is now the time to act or it is never. JAI NEPAL!!!
