It is sad that the western world should consider us third world people sub-human. BBC is better, hands down, than, say, CNN in reporting the news from Nepal. They ran a story on one of the Nepali victims -- very touching it was. But the rest of the western media are clearly only concerned with making money and it does not matter to them wherther somebody as unimportant as a Nepali, who does little to fill there coffers, lives or dies. But as Biruwa points out,BBC is also not immune to overlooking the globally 'unimportant' issues, as those of Nepal.

I would give BBC a benefit of doubt and consider perhaps the reason they wrote "12 unnamed Nepalis" is that maybe the names of all 12 are still not known. Last I checked, even Nepali Govt did not have the complete information on all those poor souls.

The names of all twelve captives were made public long ago. And as I posted earlier, BBC ran a story on one of them, Ramesh Khdka.

The twelve hostages are:

Prakash Adhikari (Jhapa)
Ramesh Khadka (Lalitpur)
Lalan Singh Koiri (Dhanusha)
Mangal Bahadur Limbu (Dhankuta)
Jit Bahadur Thapa Magar (Gorkha)
Gyanendra Shrestha (Khotang)
Rajendra Kumar Shrestha (Khotang)
Bodhan Kumar Sah Sudi (Dhanusha)
Manoj Kumar Thakur (Dhanusha)
Sanjay Kumar Thakur (Dhanusha)
Bhekh Bahadur Thapa (Rolpa)
Bishnu Hari Thapa (Lamjung)
