--our families/friends are locked in ktm....where is the UN security council in times and places like this ------------ Maoists impose `blockade' of Kathmandu, security tightened All type of transport have come to a halt in and out of Kathmandu following the call for indefinite blockade of the capital city by Maoist sister organisations beginning Wednesday. Not a single vehicle has crossed Thankot, a major entry point to the capital, Thankot police post said early Wednesday. Local district units of Maoists surrounding Kathmandu valley had called for an indefinite blockade on all four entry and exit points linking Kathmandu to rest of the country in protest against what they say extra-judicial killing of their activists and leaders including Bharat Dhungana by the state. The government is yet to respond to specific allegations leveled by the rebels. Meanwhile, a high-level meeting of top government and security officials at the Prime Minister's Office on Tuesday has reviewed the security situation in the country and has decided to raise the level of security throughout the country especially along the highways, sensitive installations and capital valley. The meeting has directed the security agencies to remain on high alert. In a public notice, the Home Ministry has asked people not to panic and engage in their activities as usual. Kathmandu residents could be seen conducting their daily chores early Wednesday despite the Maoist blockade. Shops remain opened, private and public vehicles could be seen plying on the road within the capital valley and students were going to the school. Officials have said they have made arrangements to avoid shortage of essential goods though they admitted that people could indulge in 'panic buying' if the blockade is prolonged. nepalnews.com by Aug 18 Related News - Maoists declare blockade in Valley from August 18

Maoists are the by product of our corrupt democratic parties and their leaders. Is there one single leader and bureaucrat without a faul intention in his/her mind? Why do we ignore, forget, and forgive the criminals so fast and so easily? We are at fault too to some extent. DP.

If you want to save Nepal, first think how to shave off these two terrorists: Licensed and Unlicensed I hope I don't need to explain which is licensed and which is unlicensed.

PeepalTree! People in rural area are in situation like "sadheko judhai, bachhako michai". Both sides are killng them with their closed eyes. RNA is very much rough to people, they easily can enter any home and kill a mother holding her child. In the other hand maoist speak polite language to people but at the same time they can blame anyone being a spy to government and "safaya".... So in my opinion they both are terrorists. RNA is licensed by gov and another is unlicensed. Clear enough?

I think maoist are, now a days, acting as a cult. If you follow their idealogy, you're fine, if you don't you'll first be abducted, brainwashed if you are vulnerable or you'll be eliminated if you're educated or harder to be mold. All of them, either army, police or maoists are Nepali. The main problem lies in the political parties (one side is current parties in power, other is maoist) who are misusing the power of "sadharan" nepalese brothers against each other to quench their thirst for power.
